What would you do after your ‘O’ Levels? Most of us would relax on a vacation or take up a job to earn some pocket money. But a group of youths from our church chose to spend their holidays on a mission trip. Together as a team, they helped build a church in Johor Bahru both literally and figuratively.

During the first service, Wei Ling preached about not just being friendly, but being a friend. Mind-sets were shifted as the people learnt that we have to be genuine in building relationships, and to love faithfully the people God has given us to love.

The next day, the missions team also held a connect group meeting complete with games, testimonies, praise and worship, and the preaching of the word – all in Chinese! After experiencing the strong presence of God, the people now have a greater hunger to encounter God in their lives.

The high point of the mission trip came on the last day when we helped to run an evangelistic service. One of our team members, Melvin, not only helped to operate with the sound system, but also shared a moving testimony about how God’s love found him.
