Following the event, our HOGC volunteers participated in an appreciation dinner with Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat as Guest of Honor, showing support for our nation’s commitment to racial and religious harmony.

Zhong Yi, one of our HOGC leaders and frequent volunteer in community events, shared, “it’s heartwarming to see our volunteers giving their best and going the extra mile! After spending the entire afternoon ushering people to their seats, it started raining. Without sparing a thought, many of them gave up their ponchos to the guests to make sure they weren’t drenched! That’s so Heart of God Church – others first!”

Peace and Prosperity Singapura 2019 culminated in an interfaith prayer for the continued peace and prosperity for the nation. To mark the occasion, volunteers helped out with assembling a mass lion dance display consisting of 720 lions.

The largest lion dance assembly ever held in Singapore at The Float @ Marina Bay.

The lion dance assembly made it into the Singapore Book of Records for the largest lion dance troupe.A second record was then set when 600 lions had their eyes dotted in an act of ‘awakening’ the lions in remembrance of how our nation came to be known as Singapura and eventually, Singapore.

Peace and prosperity do not come about by chance. It requires deliberate effort from everyone to strengthen the social fabric of our nation. It is important that we include and not exclude, to build bridges and not walls with people from other races and religions. Indeed, this is so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation. Kudos to all our volunteers for living this out!
