In university, church awarded me a scholarship. This allowed me to use my time to volunteer in the community. I even won the NextGen Young Community Leader Award presented by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

When I first entered university, the bank loan for my tuition fees meant that I would start work with a 5-digit debt. When I was 19, my dad stopped working. I took on tuition jobs to lighten my parents’ financial load.
When my pastors heard about it, they wanted to help me. The scholarship I received significantly reduced my debt and relieved a huge burden off my mind.

I’ve since graduated from SMU and started work at a multinational healthcare company. Because of God, church and the scholarship, I can do all that I am doing today.
