As part of the church’s Heart For Our Heroes initiatives, 100 young volunteers from Heart of God Church, Masjid Darul Ghufran and Masjid Khalid Mosque created 22 unique art pieces in support of COVID-19 frontline workers. Each piece was dedicated to one of Changi Airport Group’s 22 partnering agencies such as the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Singapore Customs.

Our volunteers unleashing their creativity.

This was the first collaboration between a church and mosques to use art to appreciate heroes serving on the front lines in this COVID-19 situation. Volunteers from Heart of God Church, Masjid Darul Ghufran and Masjid Khalid worked together for four hours to create art pieces that incorporated unique traits from each agency.

Some of our volunteers also personally travelled to Changi Airport last week to present these art pieces to the various agencies.

Some of the staff there have also been working around the clock tirelessly and the paintings brought a much-needed respite from their everyday routine. One employee from dnata shared, “This has been the loveliest and most unexpected surprise we have had in a long time! We truly appreciate all the time and effort the youths put into finishing this wonderful gift.”

During this time of crisis, we can stand together, regardless of race and religion to support those serving tirelessly on the front lines.

“It was also one of our first few times going into a mosque and interacting with the Muslim community there.” Chua Jia Jun, 17, a youth volunteer from Heart of God Church, shared, “This made me treasure the racial and religious harmony in Singapore even more. This whole initiative was so much more special because I saw how we all have the same heart to celebrate and encourage our frontline heroes as they give their best during this COVID-19 period.”

Raffles Medical Group and Smarte Carte Singapore expressed their heartfelt gratitude on social media. Check out what they said!

Huge thank you to our heroes for safeguarding our home and we hope these paintings bring you joy and encouragement this season!
